More traffic leads to more exposure, it does not matter if you have a personal or a business website, you want people to see it. More exposure means more revenue, which means that it is understandable that you are obsessed with wanting your WordPress website to get as much traffic as possible.
Most of you have heard the standard phrases: “make sure that you offer great content, use social media, be active on LinkedIn,” we have all heard the standard phrases before. Those are the standard ways that you get traffic, but we promise to look at some of the more creative and neglected ways to get to the important aspect of driving up traffic.
Tip #1 – Create A Resource Page
Do you have a list of must-have apps and tools that you use every day? Chances are that if they are that useful to you, others are going to want to know about it as well. By offering a brief page with some of this information (and a brief description why you like these apps and tools) you will get people to pay attention.
Tip #2 – Repurposing Content
Coming up with new content all the time is difficult if not impossible, but who is to say that you have to constantly create new content? Repurpose your existing content and garner traffic that way. You might create a checklist, PDF guide, video post, and a podcast from a single blog post that you did. You can reach a wider audience by distributing your content on different platforms.
Tip #3 – Use LinkedIn to Drive Traffic
In most social media marketing plans, LinkedIn is one of the often forgotten social media networks. However, you should not underestimate the power of LinkedIn. Compared to the conversion rates of Twitter (0.69%) and Facebook (0.77%) LinkedIn has a ridiculously high conversion rate at 2.74%.
Tip #4 – Tell People What To Do
It seem straightforward enough, but you would be surprised how many marketing professionals forget to tell their audience what they would like them to do next. Say that you have a great video that people are really enjoying, how do you end it? Do you just fade to black, or do you tell your audience that you want them to check you out on Facebook or find out more information on your personal website? A quick sentence at the end of your video would be a great way to accomplish that.
Tip #5 – Use Guest Blogging
Guest blogging is not dead, regardless of what other people are trying to say. However, there is a right and wrong way to guest blog. If you are posting content on a website that is irrelevant to your niche, you are not just wasting your time, but you might actively create dissonance with the audience because it appears that you are blogging just to get backlinks. Find relevant authority websites that have something to do with your market. That is where you are able to establish yourself as an influencer.
